Hanna Solovei
Artist
I am an artist from Kyiv who came to art after many years of working in visual design. For over fourteen years, I worked as a graphic designer and design lead — in advertising agencies, IT companies, and in projects related to culture and the arts, including at Mystetskyi Arsenal and Art Ukraine. This experience shaped my sensitivity to visual rhythm, composition, and conceptual thinking — qualities I now transform into my own artistic practice.
Artist statement
I am interested in the phenomenon of dual reality that Ukrainians live in today: daily life continues, yet alongside it exists another — wounded, muted, invisible. Through painting, I explore this tension between what is seen and what is hidden, personal and collective, lived through and still unformed.
My visual language is intuitive and emotional, built on sensation, associations, and fragments. I often work with vivid colors — even when addressing painful subjects. For me, this brightness is not about lightness, but about inner strength, resistance, and the will to remain sensitive and alive.
